One of Variety Club Camp’s most anticipated events of the year, Prom Night, was held during the last week of overnight camp. The night was a fairytale evening of hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and dancing for campers with physical and developmental disabilities. The young ladies and gentlemen were dressed in their best, complete with corsages and boutonnieres.
After an hour of photos and appetizers, the guests moved on to a sit down dinner. Once dinner was complete, the group moved into the rec hall for a few hours of dancing and fun. During the evening the Prom Prince & Princess as well as King and Queen were elected and crowned. The foursome and their counsellors were then treated to a limo ride around the Camp! This year’s theme was Hollywood: Where Everyone’s a Star!
Special thanks to Sue Lawler and the crew from Acme without whom Variety’s Prom Night couldn’t happen! Acme Markets is the main sponsor of the event, and provides all of the food, flowers, photos and decorations for the event. Volunteer hair and make-up stylists from Wave Reviews in Lansdale helped the prom attendees get ready and glamorous for the big night. Evans Entertainment donated DJ services for the prom while Secrets Limo provided the special transportation for the King and his court.
