Variety’s all volunteer board consists of dedicated individuals who have been selected for their success and knowledge and how those traits align with Variety’s needs. Variety’s Board of Directors is responsible for the overall fiscal success and the long term strategy of the charity.

Jerry Bollenbach

Jerry leads Business Development for Greater Philadelphia for Deloitte Tax and works with companies in financial, tax, and technology architecture. He has over 15 years experience in strategic planning and has volunteered with Autism Speaks, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Special Olympics. He has a BS in Accountancy from Villanova University and a MBA from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Jerry resides in West Chester, PA with his wife Tina, and three daughters, Ashley, Taylor, and Kaitlyn.

Doug is one of the principals of Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell and Lupin, a Montgomery County law firm.  He has served as the President of Variety since the Spring of 2014, previously having served as a Member of the Board of Directors and, prior to that, having been a member of the Camp Board.  He is a graduate of Dickinson College and Temple University School of Law.  A resident of Lansdale, he is the father of two adult children and an avid golfer and fly fisherman.

Mark is a Senior Vice President at Firstrust Bank.  Firstrust has supported Variety for over 30 years and Mark has worked with Firstrust for 20 years.  He earned an MBA from LaSalle University, a BA in Marketing from Holy Family University, and leadership certificates from Dale Carnegie’s Leadership Institute and University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.  In addition to acting as Secretary of Variety, Mark volunteers as President of Doylestown Athletic Association Baseball serving over 500 families.

Mark was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia and now resides with his family in Doylestown, PA.

Betsy is the Vice President of Content Acquisition and leads an operations team that oversees content acquisition initiatives in the field as well as with the CMC/national backbone in Denver, CO. Prior to joining Comcast Betsy spent 8 years as the Vice President for Affiliate Relations & Distribution for RLTV. Before RLTV, Brightman was Senior Vice President of Sales Operations for Gemstar TV Guide International.

 

Betsy began her career with the Crosby Vandenburgh Group. While working with CVG, Betsy was a founding board member of the Women In Cable Chapter in Boston. She is also the past President of the Philadelphia Chapter of WICT, serves on the current Board of Directors.

 

She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where she majored in English. She resides in North Wales, PA with her husband Jay and 3 children Andy, Samantha and Emma.

Paul is a Principal in the Deloitte Consulting, LLP Consumer Products Technology practice and primarily serves global Fortune 500 clients.  Paul is the Managing Director of the Philadelphia Consulting practice and since 2004 has been the Deloitte Impact Day leader at the Variety Club camp.  Impact Day, Deloitte’s national day of community service, brings together annually more than 100 volunteers focused on repairing and beautifying the facilities prior to the start of each season providing a warm welcome to families as camp opens. Paul resides in Haddonfield, NJ with his wife Sarah and two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Hope.

Tangi James-Boone, MS, PCC is an entrepreneur, certified professional coach, and a Cabrini University faculty member. She brings two decades of dynamic corporate and consulting experience in marketing, sales management, leadership, career and professional development within Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, pharmaceutical, retail, telecommunications/mass media, educational services and faith-based organization arenas. Tangi received her B.A. and MS from The Pennsylvania State University. Her volunteer experience has been in the areas of public service, economic development, and early childhood education. Tangi resides in Skippack, PA with her husband. They have three daughters.

David is responsible for the management of 77 Wawa locations in the Philadelphia Market, which employ over 2,500 associates. David and his team are responsible for all areas of store operations, sales, and people development. He is an active member of the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee and is passionate about the benefits of creating a diverse work environment. David is also part of the Supportive Employment Steering Committee, Wawa’s program for creating employment opportunities for individuals with special needs.

Stephanie is an Employment Service Manager for Specialisterne USA, Inc. She has over 10 years of experience in education and 20 plus years in the business world. She has a BS in Elementary Education from Chestnut Hill College. Her volunteer experience has been in the areas of education and community development. She is a resident of Hatboro, PA where she lives with her husband and is the mother of two girls who live and work in NY. She has a passion for family, children, and education. Stephanie loves to walk and is trying to learn to play golf.

Julie graduated American University with a BS in marketing then went on to receive her MBA from Temple. She is currently a council member of the Office of Development Programs (ODP) of Montgomery County and  Families CCAN, a support group for parents with children who have special needs. She has attended many training sessions related to ID and Autism and her daughter attends our Vocational program as well as 2 weeks of summer camp.

Bob has been the Senior Vice President of Corporate Service at Allan Myers for almost 15 years. In addition to being an Executive Committee member he is responsible for leading Human Resources, Safety, Enivronmental, Information Technology, and Risk Management. Bob graduated from Millersville with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology including a Minor in Occupational Safety and Health.

Heather is currently the Executive Director of Advocacy Services at The Arc Alliance where she has spent the past 4 years. Heather’s responsibilities include overseeing the She has spent over 10 years in the human services field Supports Coordination Organization program, ensures fiscal responsibility for the SCO, and serves as a liaison with the board committees. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to earn her Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from the Temple Fox School of Business.
