A few weeks ago, Variety hosted its 25th annual Annie Madden Sunshine Games. Summer program participants enjoyed a special day full of games and activities including yard games, a dunk tank, and more.

The Annie Madden Sunshine Games honor Annie Madden, a Variety camp counselor who tragically lost her life in a car accident in 1999. A year after her death, her parents, Jim and Mary Ellen, decided there was no better way to invoke Annie’s memory than an annual care-free day of fun for campers and friends of Annie. Thus, the tradition of the Annie Madden Sunshine Games was born.

Thank you to Swoop and the Philadelphia Eagles Drumline and Cheerleaders for helping welcome participants to the event, Hogs and Honeys Foundation for Kids for a delicious BBQ lunch, and Wawa’s Community Care Truck and beloved mascot Wally for refreshments.
