On Monday, June 24th, we celebrated our annual Community Day complete with an interactive display of local first responders.This year’s event was sponsored by Independence Blue Cross. The fun day gave over 100 Variety campers and summer program participants a chance to interact up close and personal with the emergency personnel and help them understand the important role first responders play in the community.

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale

Worcester Volunteer Fire Department

In addition, local community partner, Allan Myers was on site with a dump truck as well as members of PA Representative Matt Bradford’s staff. During the day, campers enjoyed barbecue lunch. Volunteers from Independence Blue Cross, SEI, Variety’s Board of Directors, and the Worcester community were on campus to grill and serve lunch. They also enjoyed ice cream from Cream and Ice of West Norriton.
