A Work Based Learning Experience (WBLE) is an internship that provides young individuals with the opportunity to gain insight into an area or business of interest.
Over the course of a few months, students will begin working short shifts at a local community business to begin learning the tasks and skills associated with that job. With support from our employment specialists, the student will seek to become more independent over the course of the experience. The WBLE helps not only to gain insight into the field of interest, but also offers a networking opportunity for participants to possibly be hired by this business in the future.
