Unique and Immersive Agriculture Experience Allowed Students from Area Schools to Explore Interactive Stations and Sensory Activities

On Thursday, May 21, Variety – the Children’s Charity partnered with the PA Department of Agriculture for Farm City Day at Variety. This unique and immersive agriculture education event targeted students from second grade through high school, allowing them to explore interactive stations and sensory activities that highlighted the connections between farming, community, and daily life. With support from community partners who served as exhibitors, the day included collaborative games, demonstrations, and exhibits focused on agriculture and the environment.

The event, which was free aside from providing transportation, ran from 9 am to 2 pm as part of the Remake Learning Day Festival, an international festival during the month of May. Secretary Redding joined the festivities at 9:45 a.m. for a brief program at 10 a.m.

Students also toured Variety’s greenhouses and gardens and participated in gardening tasks. The garden areas are designed to be highly accessible to support the needs of individuals with disabilities.
